  • Jet Skiis Vs. Sailboats

The first time I took my husband out sailing, the lake was full of
waterskiers and jet skiis. The jet skiis plied around us, churning up
the water, making incredible amounts of noise. I remember he said,
“Wow! I want one of those!” And I cringed.

It’s not that I don’t like jet skiis. I used them in
Thailand, to get from island to island in Pattaya. They’re like a
motorcycle, only easier to ride. Way easier!

I just don’t understand the thrill of owning one. I can understand
renting one, as you would a car, to get from place to place. It
requires no major skill. It’s easy to park somewhere on a beach. But
the downsides are, it uses up gas. It makes a lot of noise. And
lastly, I find no challenge riding one. It’s like driving a car with
automatic transmission. Or using an reliable old broken-in gelding
    for a job.

So, I was really happy when after about the third time sailing, we
were at a close haul, and were flying down the lake when my husband
saw a jet ski whizzing by and went, “Now I see what you mean!
    Sailing is more fun!”

Was I right, or was I right!
